This policy explains what information OurStore.ng collects from sellers and buyers, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

Account details you give us: name, email, phone number, and (for sellers) business/KYC information where verification is required, plus bank/affiliate payout details if you join the affiliate program
Store and order data: products, prices, photos and videos you upload or link to, orders placed on your store, delivery details, and messages exchanged through the platform
Payment metadata: transaction references, amounts, and status from payment providers you connect (Paystack, Flutterwave, Monnify, HeedPay) — we don't see or store your card numbers or bank login details; those stay with the provider
Technical data: IP address, device/browser type, and cookies used to keep you logged in and remember preferences
Push notification data: if you enable push notifications, we store a device subscription token so we can send you order and account updates

2. How we use it

We use your information to operate your account and store, process orders and payments, send transactional notifications (order updates, payout confirmations, security alerts, policy changes), prevent fraud, and improve the platform. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Product videos and embedded content

Sellers can attach a product video by linking to a YouTube, Vimeo, or TikTok video, or a direct video file. When a buyer views a product with a linked YouTube/Vimeo/TikTok video, that platform's embedded player loads directly in the buyer's browser — this means the video platform can independently collect data about that visit (such as IP address, device information, and its own cookies), governed by that platform's own privacy policy, not ours. We don't control what those third-party platforms do with that data. A direct video file (hosted by the seller or on our own servers) doesn't involve a third-party platform and isn't affected by this.

4. Sharing

We share data only where necessary:

With the payment providers you connect to your own store, or that the platform uses for subscription/domain/fee payments, to process transactions
With delivery/logistics partners you choose to use
With domain registrars and Google Search Console, where you've purchased a domain or requested GSC submission through the platform
With video-hosting platforms (YouTube, Vimeo, TikTok), only in the sense described above — a buyer's browser loading an embedded video communicates directly with that platform, not through us
With law enforcement where legally required

5. Cookies

We use cookies to keep you signed in, remember your cart, and understand how the platform is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, and where shown, through the cookie banner on this site. Note that an embedded YouTube/Vimeo/TikTok video (see section 3) may set its own cookies that are outside our control.

6. Data retention

We keep account, order, and transaction data for as long as your account is active and as needed to meet legal, accounting, or reporting obligations afterward.

7. Your rights

You can request a copy of the personal data we hold on you, ask us to correct inaccurate data, or request deletion of your account, subject to any records we're legally required to keep (such as transaction history for tax/accounting purposes).

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the platform grows. If we make a material change, we'll do our best to let existing users know.
